At its 2024 Annual Meeting July 23 in Las Vegas, NV, SEARCH saluted Members and Staff who reached years of service milestones in 2024. SEARCH also recognized Staff for special achievement and those who retired in 2024.



During a brief ceremony, SEARCH Chair Jason Bright recognized the following Members:
- Jim Anderson was honored for 15 years of service as Washington’s governor-appointed SEARCH Member. Mr. Anderson is Commander of the Criminal Records Division of the Washington State Patrol.
- Dan Foro, Senior Advisor of the New York State Sheriffs’ Association Institute, was honored for 10 years of service as an At-Large Member. He has also served on the Board of Directors since 2014.
- Lt. Col. Larry C. Newton Jr., Office of Technical Services, Kentucky State Patrol, was honored for 5 years of service as the governor appointee for Kentucky. Lt. Col. Newton just completed two terms of service on the SEARCH Board of Directors.
- Bradley Rollo, Director, Crime Information Bureau, Wisconsin Department of Justice, was honored for 5 years of service as the governor appointee for Wisconsin. Mr. Rollo serves on the SEARCH Board of Directors.
- Major Charles (Monty) Coats Jr. was honored for 5 years of service as the governor appointee for South Carolina. Major Coats serves on the SEARCH Board of Directors.




Staff recognized for years of service were:
- Dennis DeBacco, Justice Information Services Specialist for Law and Policy, 15 years.
- Michael Jacobson, Justice Information Specialist/Membership Coordinator, 15 years.
- Becki Goggins, Director of Law and Policy, 10 years.
- Haiqi Wei, Information Sharing Developer, 10 years.

SEARCH’s Cybercrime and Digital Forensics team were recognized for exceptional performance and for offering extraordinary and tangible value to public safety agencies and personnel nationally through their technical assistance and training efforts. The honorees were:
- Timothy Lott, Director of Cybercrime Training
- John Trenary, Director of Digital Forensics Services
- Lauren Wagner, Program Manager of Cybercrime and Digital Forensics
- Eric Jollymore, Digital Evidence Forensic Analyst


Staff recognized for retirements were:
- Dennis DeBacco, who retired in June 2024 following 24 years of service to SEARCH – 15 years as Law and Policy Staff and 9 years as a SEARCH Member representing the State of Nevada.
- David J. Roberts, who retired July 2024 following 25 years of service to SEARCH – 24 years as Executive Staff (including Executive Director) and 1 year as a SEARCH Member representing the State of Wyoming. During the Annual Meeting, Mr. Roberts handed over the reins as SEARCH CEO to Mr. Derek Veitenheimer, and was also recognized as the 2024 recipient of SEARCH’s highest leadership honor, the O.J. Hawkins Award.
