SEARCH is pleased to welcome two new gubernatorial appointees to our Membership Group, representing the States of Alabama and Rhode Island.
April Bickhaus, Chief of the Criminal Justice Services Division, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), was appointed June 26, 2018, by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey. ALEA is a consolidated law enforcement, investigative, and support services agency serving the entire State of Alabama. It combines the functions and missions of such departments and entities as homeland security, public safety, bureau of investigation, fusion center, and criminal justice information system.
Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Barry, Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Field Operations of the Rhode Island State Police (RISP), was appointed June 20, 2018, by Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo. As second in command of the RISP, Col. Barry is responsible for the Division’s Uniform Bureau, including the Patrol Districts and the Emergency Response and Service Units. He also serves as Commanding Officer of the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety, which includes the Division of Sheriffs, Capitol Police, E-9-1-1 Uniform Emergency Telephone System, and Public Safety Grant Administration Office.
